Do you have someone dear to you in your life whom you would like to honor? Or perhaps a loved one who has already passed on? Why not show your love by honoring them with a beautiful imprinted memorial brick? These bricks will be installed in the newly designed Percy Patterson Garden behind the sanctuary under the lovely stained glass window. Click HERE to print out and complete the form for the size you'd like. There are 3 sizes and prices: 4x8 - $125; 8x16 - $250; and 16x16 - $500. Let's start ordering and we'll get this garden growing! Mail the completed form with your check to 1072 Old Kempsville Rd., Virginia Beach, VA 23464.
Ministry Highlight: Knitting Hearts
The Knitting Hearts, established in 2007, meets on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month (via Zoom). They create shawls, baby blankets, and lap blankets, pray over them, and give them to anyone needing to be "covered" in prayer. Shawls or blankets are given to hospice patients, newborn babies, to those who are sick or hospitalized, and to anyone else requesting one. Prayer shawl squares are given to college students and those in the military. Shawls and blankets are blessed during a worship service. Members share patterns and ideas that have special significance. They often listen to a story on Zoom while they knit.
Anyone is invited to join! Email cumc@cumcvb.org for information.

Use the Church Calendar to Ensure Event Success
If you or your group are planning an event, an important first step will be to get your event on the church calendar. This will ensure that members can easily find the details of your event (time, place, purpose), and also ensure that the location in the church you are planning to use is available. Once your event is on the calendar, the location for your event is reserved for your use.
To get an event on the church calendar, contact Annamarie Haskell, office manager.
