For this reason, I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord's holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge - that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

On March 20, 2022, (3/20) Community UMC launched a church-wide breakthrough prayer initiative dedicated to praying for each other and for our church community.  We want to encourage our church body to pray daily and at 3:20 in the afternoon to stop and pray this prayer...




   

Holy Spirit, as the waves break on the shore of Virginia Beach, so break through our lives, our church and our community. Give us new ideas, new hope and new power to achieve your possibilities. Lord, we surrender our lives and our church to you. We trust that you are who you say that you are and that you will do exceedingly and abundantly more than we can ask or imagine. Amen.

[We read] In KJV, Ezekiel 22:30: "And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none." O God, please help us and teach us to build a wall [of prayer] around the USA, Canada, Poland, European Union and United Kingdom. Are you ready to stand in the gap, where God is the Helper and Teacher? Dear believers: we continue the good fight to the end. Please pray that United Kingdom, European Union, Poland, the USA, Canada would overcome for: (The Acts 26.18). * Poland and European Union, pray for freedom from dead religion to saving faith of Jesus Christ as the Saviour and the Lord, * the Church in the USA & Canada & United Kingdom – Pray for repentance and cleansing of the church - Matt. 3.12 "Whose fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire." * my family: 1. Stir up the hearts of my family for ministry for me, my wife Dorothy, our daughters Ann and Kristin, and our sons Peter and Daniel - "..but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord" Joshua 24.15 2. Pray for God's will, wisdom, discernment, revelation and recognition for me and my family; I ask God for Edmund’s work situation, God's direction for Edmund , Dorothy, Ann(also God's protection and blessings over the company where she works and she needs a husband), Peter & Kristy, Daniel 3. I ask God for great wisdom and God's order at our works. Blessings and the knowledge of Jesus Christ for my bosses. Thank God for the continuation of my work.

320 Church-wide Prayer Initiative launched 3/20

  • Pray Everyday!

    Beginning March 20, 2022, we are asking all church members and friends to wear a reminder bracelet and carry the CUMC prayer card with them.  At 3:20 pm, we will all stop what we are doing and pray collectively for God to breakthrough at Community Church.

  • Free stuff

    Prayer and bracelet packets are available in the CUMC hospitality center or church office.  Spread the news.  CUMC is praying for breakthrough!

  • Breakthrough candles

    At any time during our worship services, individuals are encouraged to come light a candle to indicate the Spirit of God has broken through in some way.  It could be a prayer answered, seeing God at work somewhere in the world or simply a new sense of God's power and presence.  Share the news by sharing a light.

  • Prayer Wall

    Write a prayer or say a prayer.  Stop by the prayer wall in the crossroads area to add a prayer request or pray for others listed on the wall.  Staff and church members will be praying over this wall daily.
